What's New...

The RUBRIC Toolkit is LIVE!!!

On the 11 October 2007 the RUBRIC Toolkit was launched at !DEA 2007. The !DEA Conference ran from the 8 October 2007 to the 11 October 2007, the public launch of the toolkit was on the final day and was received favorably by all attendees. The Project Manager, Project Advisor and the Senior Technical Officer officially launched the Toolkit to the public.

The RUBRIC Toolkit is a work in progress until the 31st December 2007.

The RUBRIC Project is recognition that regional and smaller universities have a need to access, manage and disseminate research information in the same way as the large established research universities but often face significant challenges in developing appropriate and sustainable infrastructure.

When significant research output is now often born digital, universities of all types have a pressing need to develop and maintain open access repositories capable of managing research output to ensure ongoing accessibility of that research.

RUBRIC focuses on the needs of smaller and regional universities by providing a structured framework for partner institutions to evaluate, trial and implement an Institutional Repository solution; to collaborate on the development of better processes and tools; to act collectively and to develop the expertise that will be necessary to respond to emerging needs of the Research Quality and Accessibility Frameworks across universities.

RUBRIC Project Acknowledgments

The RUBRIC project is sponsored by the Australian Commonwealth Department of Education, Science and Training, (DEST) under the Systemic Infrastructure Initiative (SII) as part of the Commonwealth Government's Backing Australia's Ability - An Innovation Action Plan for the Future (BAA).
